HOW TO WEAR A DRESS IN WINTER

When winter comes and it gets colder and darker outside, our clothing choices become much more limited. While we can mix and match clothes during the milder months of spring, summer, and fall, the cold winter air greatly limits our options. Many women are especially disappointed when they say goodbye to their favorite summer dresses, which have been a staple of their wardrobe throughout the year.

It seems downright improvident to wear only a fraction of your wardrobe for one short winter season. But it’s quite possible to wear a dress in winter! Instead of leaving dresses in the closet until April, just figure out what to wear with a dress in winter and don’t worry about anything. There are many different ways to create a winter-worthy look with stylish dresses that will keep you warm at the same time.

FASHIONABLE WARM DRESSES

The simplest thing you can think of is to buy a warm dress for winter looks. It can be a wrap dress made of dense suiting fabric, a sheath dress made of knitted fabric (even with a fleece), a short or long jersey hoodie dress with slits, a loose knitted sweater dress, a woolen dress with ¾ sleeves. It all depends on what you love.

DRESS AND LEATHER: JACKET AND HIGH BOOTS

Boots are a classic choice for winter looks, including dresses. There are plenty of options that will perfectly match your outfit. A laconic look can be created with a fitted dress with long sleeves and a flare skirt combined with high black heeled boots. A light layered dress with floral print and an oversize eco leather jacket go well with them, too. But the boots over the knee can also be worn under a short woolen dress or a leather dress with a wrap jacket to create a look with an urban chic atmosphere.

SWEATER DRESS

Wear a sweater over a light dress for a stylish, warm and cozy look. This contrast looks best with an A-line dress made of batiste, cotton with stitching or lace. Combine a cropped sweater with a midi or maxi dress and boots with small heels. A looser draped sweater can be worn over a short summer dress with tights and high boots. Make sure your look is balanced by maintaining the contrast between sweater and dress. It is better not to wear a thick knitted sweater over a loose textured dress so as not to look bulky. The sweater or dress should be made from a thinner material so that the outfit looks sleek and not baggy.

DRESS AND TIGHTS

Wearing a dress over tights is one of the best ways to combine a summer dress with a winter look. When it comes to tights, the options are endless. The minimum program is a pair of thick black tights and a knitted mini or midi dress. Wear classic black tights with a plain or printed dress and complete this look with boots or ankle boots. And if you want to get a little creative, experiment with tights of different textures, colors and patterns.
