Often, the everyday looks and evening wear of celebrities become instant hits, inspiring millions of girls around the world to have a similar outfit. However, not all famous people work with stylists and plan every look to the smallest detail. Sometimes even the looks from the red carpet are so unsuccessful that they get into the world anti-ratings. But what tasteless outfits should you pay attention to so as not to repeat the mistakes of the celebs?
BRIGHT SEQUINS AND SPORTS STYLE
For evening dresses, there are certain dress code rules depending on the degree of strictness of the event. Of course, these are “desirable but not obligatory” prescriptions, and stars often break the rules a little to surprise the public and outshine the colleagues. However, there are some style taboos that should not be put into practice at all. For example, an evening dress code absolutely excludes the possibility of using a sports style, even if it constitutes only a part of the look. Therefore, you should not combine a sequin floor-length dress with sportswear, as, for example, Kiara at the recent Met Gala 2021 reception.
ABUNDANCE OF NUDITY
Transparent fabrics are another way to prove your outrageousness and make a bad impression on fashion critics. Stars often choose flashy transparent dresses that do not cover, but only emphasize bare areas of the body (and often the whole body in general). Rihanna, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Tara Reid and Bella Hadid, who prefer not dresses, but overalls, especially like to go too far with nudity. Sometimes these outfits look stylish, but still too provocative even for the red carpet. Therefore, if you want to repeat the translucent outfit of a celebrity, do not forget about lined dresses or combine weightless tunics with a short slip dress or a sheath dress.
STRANGE FABRICS AND SHAPES
Do you remember Lady Gaga’s meat dress? It deserves a separate label “Do not wear under any circumstances”. Of course, Lady Gaga is a recognized master of epatage. But sometimes her experiments with outfits go beyond the common sense.
Strange outfits include Björk’s swan-shaped dress, Katy Perry’s chandelier dress, and Nicki Minaj’s floor-length red dress with a massive hood, reminiscent of Little Red Riding Hood suit. Such outfits look memorable, but not in a good way, only emphasizing the strangeness of their owners.
In general, unusual outfits are not always good. For a celebration or an evening out, I advise you to choose classic outfits: a floor-length dress with an open top, an ankle-length slip dress, a trouser suit, a sleeveless silk jumpsuit or a sheath dress with a voluminous ruffle at the bottom.
