AN ECO LEATHER HEADSCARF IS A HOT ACCESSORY

Those who are always on the cutting edge of fashion trends will like today’s news: scarves and headscarves have burst into fashion! Moreover, standard materials of silk and chiffon give way to eco leather, which we already love so much. Who would have thought of this a year ago? But 2020 is over, it’s time to get out of hibernation and experiment with this season’s new products. If you’re ready to kick off spring and have a great summer, add an eco-leather scarf to your must-have accessory list.

FROM A CASUAL ELEMENT TO A FASHION ACCESSORY

The history of headscarves on fashion catwalks began in the late 1940s. Fashion houses of that time switched from hats to silk headscarves and neckerchiefs, and it was a boom in the clothing industry: after all, earlier the headscarf was an attribute of rural, not urban life. The trend was immediately picked up by eminent actresses of that time, who were considered style icons, and so the silk headscarf secured its position in fashion. In the early 1960s, such divas as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor and Ingrid Bergman became an inspiration for many generations of girls, and the headscarf was one of those fashion accessories, which they were associated with.

Since then, headscarves went out of fashion, then returned back to trends. The last resurgence in demand for headscarves happened in 2018, when silk scarves with jewelry prints on a bright red, yellow or mustard background were popular. Then the headscarves again disappeared from the fashion horizon. And so, at the beginning of 2021, they returned in a rethought form, in line with the spirit of the times and changes. Now buying a headscarf made of eco leather is a must for fashionistas.

HOW TO WEAR AN ECO LEATHER HEADSCARF?

The most standard way to put on a headscarf is to throw it over your head and tie a knot under the chin, or throw the edges crosswise behind the neck and tie at the back. But do not forget that eco leather is a rather dense material compared to silk, so you can experiment with other tying methods and make the shaped knots. For example, you can make a simple knot on the forehead (the so-called “solokha”), or you can tie it so that you get a small knot in the shape of a ball. This is how girls with braids or dreadlocks wear an eco leather headscarf.

If the length allows, you can fold the scarf several times so that you get a narrow and long strip, and then tie it around your head once, pass it under your hair like a bandage, and fasten the edges around such a “bandage” with a spiral. You will get a very stylish accessory!

WHAT TO COMBINE IT WITH?

It all depends on your courage and creativity, because you can choose any combination of clothing items. You can choose a T-shirt tucked into ripped flare jeans, add a chunky chain and sneakers for a more relaxed and street-style look. If you want to look luxurious, choose a jumpsuit with wide cropped trousers, add stilettos, sunglasses and a pendant. You can also wear a headscarf under a matching trouser or linen suit, or you can make a total eco leather look and choose a leather sheath dress or eco leather jacket with denim shorts and a small top. In any case, you will look trendy and chic!
