Although the fashion weeks in world capitals looked a little different than in the past seasons, mostly held without spectators and broadcasted virtually, they still allowed us to feel the exciting autumn trends of 2021. With the talks of a reopening world, optimistic and life-affirming notes were woven into the collections, and we got a spectacular list of looks for the fall. Get ready, you won’t be able to resist the 2021-22 luxury trends! So, what clothes should be on the shelves of your wardrobe?
BRIGHT COLORS AND TOTAL LOOKS
The neutral colors that dominated fashion in 2019 and 2020 are fading into the background, releasing a riot of colors and shades. Of course, you should not get rid of a beige coat, white shirt or black dress: these are the classics and basics of your wardrobe. But the current fall fashion calls for a lot of bright colors, from a lemon yellow baby doll dress with matching tights and sneakers, to a cobalt blue three piece suit with a long jacket, button down vest and culottes, or a hot pink look of jersey long sleeve, palazzo pants and coat made of boucle wool. Bright total look is the number one trend!
BOOM ON KNITTED SWEATERS, CARDIGANS AND DRESSES
This list of autumn/winter trends would be incomplete without warm and cozy knitted fabric: pay attention to the cable knit pattern. Cable knit sweaters certainly seem like a very tight seasonal item (well, when to wear them, except in winter?), however, if you choose a light sweater made of cotton or acrylic threads, you can wear it from September to May. Do not forget that oversize is still in trend, and the larger the knit, the thicker the threads and the bigger the sweater, the better. As for knitted dresses, choose a loose fit, midaxi or maxi length, neckline and a mandatory slit!
MULTILAYER LOOKS IN MALE STYLE
This season, women’s three-piece suits, reminiscent of men’s suits, and the same boyfriend-fit coats are in fashion. It is very easy to form a multi-layered look, which will become even more relevant if you collect it in one color. Start with a women’s overcoat, and put on a jacket, shirt, vest, golf, skirt or trousers of the same shade under it. The prevailing materials for such a look are suiting fabric, fine wool and knitted fabric.
VOLUMINOUS OUTERWEAR
What to choose as outerwear in autumn if you are not a fan of coats at all? Bulky down jackets, puff jackets and raincoats are your way out. All these jackets are so airy and comfortable that you will hardly want to change them for something more classic. The most practical models are made of raincoat fabric and eco leather: they will not get wet in the autumn rain and will keep you warm in any weather.
