SENSE OF STYLE: HOW TO IMPLEMENT TRENDS IN THE WARDROBE

Winter season is not a justified reason to give up stylish clothes! After all, the cold comes every year, and we need to be able to adjust our looks to any temperature. Of course, winter clothing should be not only stylish, but also warm, otherwise what is the point of it? Therefore, today we will talk about how to combine style and convenience, what stylish looks can be utilized in winter and whether it is possible to look beautiful when it is -15 outside.

WINTER TRENDS 2022

To begin with, let’s see what trends the current season has prepared for us, and select the most universal trends that will suit almost everyone.

The leading position in the ranking of fashionable winter clothes is occupied by a warm dress with a high neck in the form of a long sweater with slits, straight trousers made of eco leather resembling the cargo jeans, woolen palazzo trousers, pleated midaxi skirts, knee-length leather and suede wrap dresses, checkered jackets, oversize suiting jackets, knitted and silk suits, asymmetric mini dresses. These are quite versatile pieces, some of which are already present in your basic wardrobe.

In terms of color, the 2021/22 season brought bright colors into fashion: shades of red, green, blue and lilac. Therefore, if you are thinking about how to create a look that matches fashion trends, do not hesitate to combine colored items with each other and add noticeable accessories.

HOW TO ADD A TRENDING ITEM TO AN EXISTING CAPSULE?

The question is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. In order for the item to be functional and worn more than once during the whole season, you should think over its possible combinations with other items of your wardrobe in advance. With such a strategy, you can create more outfits using the existing base and supplementing it with current trends. For example, if you have straight light or beige trousers in your wardrobe, an olive-colored turtleneck and a caramel eco leather jacket will perfectly suit them. If you love white shirts or longsleeves, combine them with terracotta eco leather trousers or a mustard suede A-line skirt, and wear a houndstooth knitted vest on top. If you have a black sheath or A-line dress, put a short sky blue or dark red wide knitted sweater over it, and complement a nude silk dress with straps with a long colored sweater or poncho with an ethnic print.

WHAT TO DO WITH CLOTHES FROM PAST SEASONS?

Women’s wardrobe is a very mysterious concept: most often we keep a ton of obsolete things from past seasons with the thought: “what if it comes in handy.” For some versatile pieces of clothing, this may be true: for example, I am sure that skinny jeans, straight trousers, mini skirts, sequin dresses, printed sweatshirts and colored sweaters will come back into fashion from time to time, so it makes no sense to get rid of such clothes. It can be stored in a closet and changed if it is already worn out.

However, if such items have been on the shelves for years and you have never worn them, you do not need to store them even longer. Learn to part with clothes that you don’t like or that are completely out of fashion: you can donate them to charity or opt for recycling. You’ll see, it will immediately become easier to breathe and there will be a room for a couple of new things.
