WHAT TO WEAR FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?

Spring is a golden time for romance. It’s getting warm, and you can wear more feminine looks: light trench coats, light shades in clothes, heels… All this reminds us what kind of gentle creatures we are. Naturally, you immediately want to capture such beauty – and therefore, in the spring all photographers have a large flow of clients who want to take cool pictures. And if you also enjoy the idea of taking pictures – book a place with the photographer in advance, and in the meantime we will tell you what to wear for a photoshoot!

CHOOSE THE THEME

The first thing to think about is what look you want to create. Chat with the photographer and discuss the location, think about the mood you want to capture in future shots. Will it be nature or urban landscapes, a studio with a white background or a studio designed to look like a room – based on this, you can already start thinking about the outfits.

At this stage, think about the color scheme: if the background in the studio is plain, you can afford to wear a bright dress, but if you plan to take pictures against the background of lush flowering trees, you risk getting lost in a colorful outfit. It is better to choose a more contrasting, but solid color dress.

Think about the style: if you plan to make photos in a studio decorated in a romantic style, it is better to choose an outfit that complements such an interior. You can ask the photographer about this: good specialists will be happy to suggest you some outfit options!

CONSIDER COLORS, TEXTURES AND SHADES

Even if you don’t think about colors in real life and like modest colors, a photo shoot is a great excuse to wear something brighter and more contrasting. The fact is that the camera and studio lighting often eat up colors, and therefore, if you are planning a photo shoot in the studio, dress much brighter than in ordinary life.

Here are the items that the camera “loves”:

Flying silhouettes and fabrics with draperies.

Complex shades. Too bright, acid colors will have the edge over you, but too light hues, on the contrary, can look completely faded in post-production. Choose the golden mean.

Fur and texture on fabrics. Any kind of lace, perforations and textures will look good in pictures. However, try to choose clothes that would not give extra reflections, shine, lurex, etc.

Here are some things to avoid while making photos:

Black color. Firstly, the camera will highlight even the slightest specks on it, and secondly, even the most saturated clothing piece may look faded due to lighting.

Patent leather, shiny leather and vinyl. Although these materials are very popular among fashionistas, they often glare in the photo, distort volumes and generally look not very good.

Logomania and rhinestones. Even if they are hype logos, even if they are Swarovski crystals, they will still look cheap in the photo, and everyone will look first at them, and not at you.

Too many accessories and a bright manicure. All this distracts attention from you and draws it to an extra bright item. But you want everyone to look at you in the photo, right?

As you can see, when planning a photo shoot, it is important to consider some tricks. But on the other hand, if you listen to our advice, and additionally talk with your photographer to find out some more useful recommendations, you will definitely be sure that your pictures will be simply amazing!
